Frequently Asked Questions — NorthStar Leadership Partners

Question 1

How does the engagement process work?

Accepted Answer

Every engagement begins with a discovery conversation to understand your organization's context, challenges, and goals. From there, NorthStar Leadership Partners develops a tailored proposal outlining the scope of work, timeline, and investment. Once an agreement is in place, we move into the work — beginning with a deeper assessment before developing recommendations and an implementation plan.

Question 2

How long do engagements typically last?

Accepted Answer

Engagement length varies based on scope and need. Strategic consultations can be a single session. Advisory and action planning engagements typically span four to eight weeks. Fractional leadership and implementation partnerships are ongoing monthly engagements, often ranging from three months to a full school year or longer. Interim leadership engagements are customized based on organizational need.

Question 3

What types of organizations do you serve?

Accepted Answer

NorthStar Leadership Partners works with school districts, charter school networks, independent schools, nonprofit organizations, foundations, state education agencies, and other mission-driven organizations committed to improving outcomes for students, families, and communities.

Question 4

How do I get started?

Accepted Answer

The best first step is to schedule a consultation. You can reach us through the contact form on our website or by emailing hello@northstarleadershippartners.org. We'll schedule a conversation to learn more about your organization and explore how NorthStar can help.

Question 5

Do you work virtually?

Accepted Answer

Yes. NorthStar Leadership Partners offers both virtual and in-person engagements. Many advisory, coaching, and consulting services are delivered effectively through virtual platforms. For engagements that benefit from in-person presence — such as leadership retreats, facilitated planning sessions, or implementation support — we are available to travel.

We are available to travel for speaking engagements, workshops, leadership retreats, and on-site consulting work. Travel arrangements and associated costs are discussed during the proposal process.
